I mailed you the Pranayama instructor's email as a private message.
I would strongly recommend that. I was in India few months back and the person suffering from lung cancer had got cured by practicing Pranayama day in and day out for nearly 1 month. He was given 45 days time by the doctor, as the tumor had burst in one of the lungs.
But he had faith and got over the problem in a month's time. Doctors were surprised as well!
I would suggest you do that as well. At least discuss the options with him.

Please tell me, why are you so frustrated ? Because you are not able to live as comfortable life as you desire ? Most of you are highly educated, if you go back to India you will be among the top 2-3% of population. But you do not want to, you have personal reasons, you have many other things not to go back.
How justified some of us are when we say, we paused our life because of we do not have green card ? If we do have this mentality, then we need to grow up. And yes, we need to look back to India where more than 40% people live below poverty line.
If you believe in God, then thank him that he even gave you an opportunity to make yourself better financially. If you do not believe in God then thank your luck. But be thankful.

My APs are pending approval, I was told they reimburse if we write to them. Did they reject your apps and paid you back the checks? We also got our cards this 15th, what do we need to do at the SSN office, please guide.

The SSN issuing staff know what to do after that. This goes without saying take your GC with you. Nothing else is required. They do not even look at the passport or any other form of ID. GC is the only thing needed.
FYI got the new SSN cards. They do NOT say permission required from DHS to work. In fact the card is exactly similar to the one my daughter got (she is US citizen, born here).

Obama just came out with the article on how education is important and how unemployed people should consider going to college and state departments should offer help.

We cannot get far with this EB2 Vs EB3 fight.
We understand EB3's situation, however pitting one against another will not help.
Sanhari: why not take your efforts one step ahead and work for fixes like visa recapture. That would be permanent solution and doesnot favor any particular group. You will be able to get support of EB2 and EB1 folks.
I know IV core is focusing its efforts on CIR. CIR is dead meat or going to be... considering this, is IV core working on any piecemeal reforms? Can somebody from the IV core comment????

you are right we were not brought here on a gun point but at the same time we did not beg anyone to bring us here... it is entirely a two sided business deal... and no one is doing any favor to anyone here ... we are doing our job and they must do their's. and yes we are "Highly Skilled" and we do deserve repect and our voices do deserve to be heard. Sure they can put an Ad in any newspaper and replace me with someone else but the question here is not about you or me... it is about the "LEGAL IMMIGRANTS" and which in that case would include anyone who they bring in to replace me.
Absolutely agree...and also please note that yes, they may replace the individual me or the individual you....but can they replace the whole immigrant population who are in the long and endless queue for a GC?

Hi guys,
My first H1B (2003) had LUD on 14th of July...and today there is a LUD on I-140. My I-140 approved in March 2007..PD is March 2005...Is it good indication that they are doing something with my I-485 case? My application reached NSC on july 2nd (not sure about time as my lawyer sent those papers). My I-140 is from TSC.
Today i added my old H1B (2003) case to my portfolio..i saw LUD on it...LUD date is '14th july 2007'...not sure...14th july is saturday...but no surprise...i saw lot of people posted that their LUD was on weekends....Is it good indication? sorry if i am asking unnecessary question..

In other words, US citizens, Permanent Residents (aka Green Card holders), and EAD (person authorized to work for any employer by USCIS). From legal point of view, employer can not discriminate between GC holder and EAD. If job is advertised as for Citizens only, applicant has right to ask for such reason.
Now, in order to qualify as person who has been wrongly discriminated
1. he/she must be otherwise qualified for job (example job asks for dot net and person has java experience)
and
2. he/she MUST have applied for the job.
Employer can not discriminate because of
1. Expiry date of EAD
2. Reason for Issue of EAD (I-485 based, L2 visa, F1 visa etc)
Having said that, there could be valid grounds that job is qualified only for US citizens or US citizens with specific security clearance. Applicant, in this case, has right to ask for reasons for such requirement.

I am sure that IV has a game plan (and I sincerely hope I am not wrong here). As a matter of interest I have been regularly monitoring NumbersUSA and FAIR websites and they have already set out an agenda with a list of action items for their members. This includes passage in the Senate of restrictionist bills like H.R. 6061, H.R. 6094, H.R. 6095 etc. In fact they have notified their constituents that Congress will be holding a lame duck session beginning November 13th and that they should keep up the pressure on their legislators.
We need something similar to this - Do all the IV constituents even know that there's a lame duck session coming up? - Probably not. The core team needs to do a better job in communicating time lines and action items for IV members to act upon. We are ready to jump into the fray again however as IV's mission statement rightly says - we need our efforts to be organized and directed for maximum impact. Even if we are out-numbered 400-1 (or whatever that number is) by the restrictionists - we need to make the politicians aware that our voice needs to be heard too.
For starters - we could at least have a webfax similar to the AILA one urging immigration reform during the lame duck session (or have that AILA link displayed more prominently on the IV site as an action item)

i work for big company...and i have paystubs...
